Common Conditions at Kirwan Complete Care
Here are some of the more common conditions we see at our practice:
- Lower back pain – the most common musculoskeletal complaint, which may be acute, from an injury or chronic, due to a disease or worsening acute condition.
- Neck pain – occurs in the cervical vertebrae, especially from misalignments in the Atlas and Axis (C1 & C2).
- Headaches/migraines – stress-related headaches are the most common type. Migraine is the most extreme type of headache, with symptoms such as nausea, light sensitivity and more.
- Extremity issues – include shoulder, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle. Any joint can become misaligned, with sprains and strains most common. Carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow are two instances where extremity pain limits function.
- Sports injuries – injuries can happen whether you’re a professional athlete or a weekend warrior. Our team helps relieve pain, works to rehab the damage and teaches you how to prevent a recurrence.

- Acute injuries – when things like falls and slips occur, acute injuries such as inflammation, swelling and reduced function must be addressed.
- Sacroiliac (SI) joint dysfunction – dysfunction in the sacroiliac joint, also called the SI joint, can sometimes cause lower back or leg pain. Sometimes confused with sciatica as the feeling is similar.
- Osteoarthritis – a chronic medical condition that leads to inflammation between the joints’ surfaces due to cartilage loss.
- Scoliosis – an abnormal curve in the spine that primarily affects children, which is progressive and incurable. Proactive care slows the progression.
- Repetitive strain injury (RSI) – also known as repetitive stress injury, RSI is a gradual buildup of damage in muscles, tendons and nerves from repetitive motions. Commonly occurs in people who work on assembly lines or those who type a lot and in others with repetitive-task-oriented occupations.
- Pregnancy-related discomfort – women tend to experience discomfort during pregnancy due to the changes their body undergoes as the baby grows. Shifts in the centre of gravity may lead to back and hip pain and more.
